Wiring the Rez is an annual conference hosted by the Center for Tribal Digital Sovereignty, the Indian Legal Program, and the American Indian Policy Institute at ASU Law. The event brings together attorneys, scholars, financiers, tax experts, technologists, and Tribal leaders to explore the intersection of law, policy, and digital infrastructure in Indian Country. Topics span jurisdiction, broadband, and economic development—all with a focus on Tribal self-determination.
For the eleventh annual conference, I led the rebranding effort to modernize the event’s identity while honoring its cultural roots. The goal was to evolve the original design—preserving its integrity and meaning—while introducing a refreshed visual system that felt both timeless and forward-looking. We drew inspiration from Native symbology like the sun and turquoise, blending those elements into a sleek, modern logo that resonated with both new and returning attendees.
The new branding came to life across every touchpoint: branded swag, signage, and digital media created a cohesive and immersive experience. Strategic placement of materials ensured high visibility, and feedback from attendees indicated the branding made the conference feel both elevated and deeply connected to community. The refreshed identity helped position Wiring the Rez as not just a conference, but a movement in Tribal digital sovereignty.
